We are very proud of our historical roots that date back to the time when Rognald Brusletto founded the company of forging knives and fake Brusletto in 1896.

Brusletto represents the craft tradition, development and quality through 125 years of production. We want our products to last and therefore also offer a lifetime warranty on products manufactured in our Geilo factory.

History of the company Brusletto
Rognald Brusletto (1861–35). Wheels from 1880, family farm 1890, blades for local cutlery.
Christmas 1895: around the coffee, idea of a mechanical hammer for fakes. 1896 : Brusletto ANS, first hammer in Geilo (Budøla / Magnhilåa). False, sickle, then blades.
1917 : Dam rupture, flood, renaissance in AS R. Brusletto & Sønner.
1930 : salt tempering, electric ovens — and others.
1939 : 23,500 fakes. False until 1996 (100 years).
Hunting knives / walk after 1935.
Scout 1951. Knife OJ Oslo 1952.
Hunter 1961: More than 1.4 million.
OJ Lillehammer 1994: Kristin and Håkon, ~200,000 pieces, 50 workers, 1,000 a day.
2018–2019 : acquisition Ultimate Nordic / Dalema Gruppen. Prod always Geilo. Lifetime warranty on factory parts. Revival Rognal 2021 (125 years).
Current steel: Sandvik 12C27 (~56–58 HRC). Handles birch / oiled visakow. Sheath leather + insert.

- Less Sami or Kauhava character.

Since 1961. Narrow blade ~135 mm, 12C27, birch, aluminium virole, sheath leather. ~120 €. Premium: back for firesteel, matte finish.

2) Nansen
Blade ~90–95 mm, closer to one puukko. Nansen: name of an explorer. For the little game.
3) Bamsen
Lined 1947, Hallingdal Mountain. Thicker blade (Hallingen ~4 mm in draft). Local look Geilo.

Most common issues
Brusletto or Helle?
Same country. Helle = Holmedal, rolled, collab Stroud, plus « object ». Brusletto = Geilo, mass Hunter, false in DNA. Often more expensive and more expensive « bushcraft ».
Is the Hunter a puukko ?
No. Norwegian long and thin hunting blade. For a format puukko : Nansen.
12C27, is it worth H3LS?
No. Good stainless steel Standard, sharpening Simple. Helle H3LS = homemade sandwich.
Still in Geilo?
Yes for lifetime warranty knives. Dalema Group since 2018–19.
JO 1994?
Kristin and Håkon: 200,000 pieces. National story, not the model to buy today except collection.
What model to start with?
Hunter so classic Norwegian hunting. Nansen if we come from puukko.
