MAP OF PUUKKO CRAFTSMEN AND SHOPS
This map brings together the workshops, factories and shops of puukkos still active, in Finland, with some stages in Sweden and Norway. Each pine gives the address, phone and type of place: open manufacture, workshop by appointment or simple point of sale. Useful for stalling in Kauhava, Rovaniemi, Kolari, Mora, Boden, Holmedal or Geilo, without confusing headquarters and workshop.

This card is not exhaustive. It brings together the workshops and manufactures that I know best, those that really deserve detour or order. Individual blacksmiths evolve, some close, others open. Don't hesitate to report an update or craftsman you discovered.
Travel Report
- Always contact small workshops in advance: Many work alone and do not have fixed opening schedules.
- The factory shops: (Iisakki Järvenpää, Marttiini, Wood Jewel, Karesuando) are the easiest access.
- Best period: from May to September, as well as during trade fairs (including the Puukkofestivaalit in Kauhava).
- In Kauhava: take advantage of it to visit also the museum of puukko.

Prepare your visits
→ Finland
Kauhava, small town of Ostrobotnia where the puukko is a true identity. Several workshops and the historical factory are still active. Ideal for a half-day stop at a day. The region concentrates on the tradition of puukko : Iisakki Järvenpää since 1879, Kauhavan Puukkopaja, Ahti and blades Peltonen at Laurin Metalli, which also manufactures Terävä sold at the Varusteleka shop in Helsinki. Further south, Roselli in Harmoinen and Brisa / Enzo Jakobstad. A detour is worth seeing also the workshop, not just the window, and for the museum of the puukko Kauhava.
→ Lapland
Marttiini in Rovaniemi, Wood Jewel in Kolari, Levi and Äkäslompolo, Pasi Jaakonaho to Inari by appointment only, and Karesuando Kniven Swedish side. We stop there for the materials of the Far North, the reindeer horn, the madré birch, and for a single engraving or piece that we do not find in the general store.
→ Sweden
Besides Karesuando, Mora deserves to stop for Morakniv : factory in Bjäkenbacken and concept store in town, the most widely distributed Scandinavian knife. In Boden, Fällkniven shows its range and prototypes in the headquarters shop. Casström, in Lycksele, completes the passage in Swedish Lapland for the bushcraft.
→ Norway
Hell Holmedal and Brusletto Geilo have factory and factory store in the same place. The detour is justified by the view of the workshop and the factory models absent from the dealers, provided that you call: visits are made during office hours, sometimes only upon reservation.

Conclusion
Schedules change according to season, and workshops only open upon reservation. A call before the detour avoids a closed door. The card covers manufacturers and brand stores, not general retailers.
A line on transport: Finland, Sweden and Norway, puukko transports in the trunk, not on yourself in the city.
